Environmental Health Division


The Environmental Health Division is a code enforcement agency that insures the health and wellbeing of Waterbury residents through code enforcement and compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations in the following areas:

  • Food Protection
  • Housing
  • Barbershops/Cosmetology
  • Public Water Safety—Swimming Pools
  • Operation Clean Street (OCS) Blight Initiative
  • Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program
  • Rooming House Inspections
  • Daycare Inspections

Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP)


CLPPP provides case management and conducts Lead inspections and epidemiological investigation for children with elevated blood levels. The mission of this program is to protect the health and safety of residents of Waterbury, prevent lead poisoning in children under the age of six, and to promote wellness through education and a wide range of activities that relate to lead poisoning prevention, specifically childhood lead poisoning prevention.
