Dog Licenses

Dog license renewals begin June 1st. In order to avoid a late fee, please submit your payment and documentation by June 30th.


Online Dog License Renewals

If your dog was registered last year and the rabies certification is still current, you can save time by renewing the license through the IQS online portal between June 1 and August 31:

Please note: IQS charges an additional convenience fee for online license renewals.


Requirements

All new and renewal licenses require a copy of your dog's current rabies certificate from the vet. Licenses for a new dog that has not been licensed in the prior year also require a copy of the spayed/neutered certificate from the vet, if applicable.


Requests by Mail

Be sure to enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope in addition to the required documents and proper payment. See the fee schedule below; cash, check, money order only. If you are registering multiple dogs, please remember to place an additional stamp on the return envelope.


Fees
  • Neutered/Spayed Dogs: $8.00
  • Non-Neutered/Spayed Dogs: $19.00
  • Late Licensing Penalty: $1.00 per month or fraction thereof
  • Transfer of Ownership: $1.00 for new license tag if already licensed
  • Lost Tag: 50¢
  • Change of Residence (Town): 50¢
  • Guide Dog: Free

In-Person Renewals & Registrations

No appointment is necessary for in-person license renewals and new registrations.

  • Hours are M-F 8:30am to 4:30pm.
  • Accepted forms of payment are cash, check, money order, and credit card (CC with additional convenience fee).
