5/14/2009 - Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)

The City of Waterbury will be receiving $931,128 under HPRP, a Federal stimulus program funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  HPRP  is designed to provide financial assistance and services to either prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless or  help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized.  In order to receive these funds the City of Waterbury has submitted a “Substantial Amendment” to the City’s 2008-2009 Consolidated Plan of Housing and Community Development (Annual Action Plan).

The City is now taking proposals/applications from eligible nonprofits/organizations who are qualified to administer eligible activities under this program.  Potential applicants should be experienced in providing these services.  Applications are available online and are due at WDC, 24 Leavenworth Street, Waterbury no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2009.

The following documents are available from this site:

Questions about the program should be directed to Kathleen McNamara at 203-346-2607 x.115
