Elected City Officials, Boards, and Committees
Waterbury has a municipal form of government.  The mayor and the 15 aldermen at large are elected biennielly in odd years.  The Board of Education is a policy-making Board elected by the voters of Waterbury.  Terms are staggered so that there is always veteran members on the Board.  The Board of Aldermen and Board of Education derive their authority from the City Charter and Connecticut State Statutes.
