Mayor Pernerewski Invites Community to 25th Anniversary September 11 Memorial Service

(WATERBURY, CT) – Mayor Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr. invites residents, community leaders, first responders, and members of the public to join him for the City of Waterbury’s 25th Anniversary September 11 Memorial Service on Friday, September 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Waterbury City Hall, 235 Grand Street.

The ceremony will honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, remember the families and communities forever changed by the attacks, and recognize the courage and sacrifice of the first responders and others who answered the call that day.

“Twenty-five years later, September 11 remains a day of profound remembrance for our nation,” said Mayor Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr. “We gather to honor those we lost, remember the extraordinary courage of our first responders, and reflect on the strength, compassion, and unity that emerged in the face of unimaginable tragedy. I invite the people of Waterbury to join us as we remember and ensure that the lessons of September 11 are never forgotten.”

The memorial service will include prayers and reflections led by local clergy, along with participation from members of the Waterbury Police Department, Waterbury Fire Department, emergency medical services, city officials, and community members.
