Mayor Pernerewski Provides Update on Water Restoration and Boil Water Advisory

(Waterbury, CT) Mayor Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr. announced today that water service has now been restored citywide. All residents should have water service available in their homes at this time.

Residents who do not currently have running water are likely experiencing an air lock within their service line. The City is actively addressing these issues. Residents without flowing water are encouraged to call 311 or (203) 597-3444 to provide their address, or to send a private message to the Mayor s Office through the city s official social media channels so Water Department crews can be dispatched to assist and restore service.

While water service has been restored, the City of Waterbury remains under a boil water advisory. Water samples will be collected this morning and sent to a State-certified laboratory for testing. Results are expected to be returned on Thursday. The boil water advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms that the water is free of bacteria and safe for consumption.

Mayor Pernerewski acknowledged the disruption residents have experienced and thanked the community for their continued patience and cooperation throughout the restoration process.

We understand how difficult and stressful this situation has been for residents and families across our city, Mayor Pernerewski said. Our teams are continuing to respond quickly to remaining issues while ensuring the safety of our water supply remains our top priority.

The city will continue to provide updates as test results are received and any remaining service issues are resolved.
