City of Waterbury Announces End of Boil Water Advisory
(WATERBURY, CT) – The City of Waterbury is announcing that the Boil Water Advisory issued on October 12 has been lifted, effective immediately.
As of 1:30 p.m. today, the City has been informed that all distribution samples collected from the water system yesterday tested negative for the presence of Total Coliform. Test results are available for residents to review on the City of Waterbury website at www.waterburyct.org.
The advisory was issued as a precautionary measure following a water main break and subsequent repairs on Huntingdon Avenue. Residents who experienced low water pressure or a temporary loss of service on Sunday, October 12, were directly affected.
“This marks the final resolution of a long and challenging situation,” said Mayor Paul Pernerewski. “We thank our residents, businesses, and institutions for their patience as our Water Department crews worked tirelessly to restore safe and reliable water service.”
For additional information, residents may contact the Water Department at (203) 574-8258 or visit www.waterburyct.org.
