City of Waterbury: Update on Water Main Break and Repairs

(WATERBURY) Water service has been restored citywide following the successful installation of a new valves on Huntingdon Avenue. Residents are advised that it may take a few hours for water to be fully restored to all areas as the pipes refill, particularly for those living in higher elevations on the east side of Waterbury. Crews will continue working through the night to complete repairs on the water main break, with no further interruption of service expected.

Residents who experienced low pressure or a temporary loss of water are advised to boil their drinking water until the Boil Water Advisory is lifted.

Water samples will be collected tomorrow and sent to a certified third-party laboratory for testing. Results are expected within 24 hours. The city will provide an update once the results are available, and all information will be posted on the City s website.

Mayor Paul Pernerewski stated, I want to thank Water Superintendent Brad Malay, the Water Department, Dayton Construction, and Core and Main for their tireless work in making these critical repairs.
