7/17/2019 - Cooling Centers Opening @ 5pm July 17th, 2019

Good afternoon Waterbury.
Beginning at 5 PM this evening (Wednesday, July 17th), the City of Waterbury will open a cooling center at the Center for Human Development (CHD), located at 693 East Main Street.
The cooling center will be open until 9 PM this evening, and will re-open Thursday and Friday, 5 PM - 9 PM.
On Saturday and Sunday, the cooling center will be opened at the CHD location from 9 AM - 9 PM.

In addition, residents seeking shelter from the high temperatures can visit the Brass Mill Mall and the Waterbury Public Library.

For folks looking to cool off in the water, splash pads are open and running at Town Plot Park, Lower Murray Park, Bucks Hill Park, Fulton Park, River Baldwin, Hamilton Park, Fairlawn Park, Washington Park, Curtain Park, East Mountain Park, Chase Park, Rivera Hughes Park, Waterville Park, Berkley Park, Hopeville Park, MLK Park.
Currently, the Fulton Park Pool and the Washington Park Pool are open, and Hamilton Park’s Pool is anticipated to be opened on Friday.
