5/8/2019 - East Main Street Streetscape Design Workshop May 28th

An informational meeting for the East Main Street Streetscape will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room (1st Floor) at the UCONN Waterbury Campus. Attendees will have the opportunity to view and learn about the preliminary design plans, and provide input and feedback on the overall “look and feel” of East Main Street. This meeting will serve as an update from the December 20, 2018 meeting.

The Streetscape Project is an ambitious effort by the City and the Waterbury Development Corporation (WDC) to further reinvigorate the City’s Downtown and create a vibrant public realm from Exchange Place to North Elm Street. The project will include roadway reconstruction and new sidewalks, crosswalks, streetlights, trees, bus shelters, and street furniture. Utility and infrastructure work will include improvements to the water, sewer and storm water utilities.

Elected officials, business owners, and members of the public are encouraged to attend the event to provide their thoughts, feedback, and suggestions on the public realm improvements.
