The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Chase Avenue and North Main Street in the City of Waterbury will be impacted by upcoming construction activities. The placement of the final course of pavement will commence on Tuesday August 22, 2017 and will continue until August 30, 2017.
All streets intersecting Chase Avenue between Kenneth Circle and North Main Street will be temporarily closed during day time hours to place the final pavement course, including Fanning Street, Wigwam Avenue, Kipling Street, Shopping Plaza Drive, and Hill Street. A detour will be in place to temporarily detour traffic. Detour signs will be posted and Waterbury Police will assist with traffic control during construction activities.
All side streets that intersect Chase Avenue will be paved during the day. In order to complete final paving, the side streets will be closed temporarily and traffic will be detoured. In order to keep impacts to the minimum, Chase Avenue will be paved during night time hours. At least one lane of traffic in each direction will be provided along Chase Avenue at all times and no closures of Chase Avenue are planned or expected.
