Military veterans are invited to golf for free this weekend at Waterbury’s two municipal golf course, East Mountain and Western Hills, Supervisor of Parks Golf Courses Mark Lombardo said.

Veterans who show a military ID or other proof of their military service are invited to the city courses free of charge on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

“The event is known as Patriot Golf Day,” Lombardo said. “We’ll be taking donations for the Folds of Honor Foundation. They provide educational support to spouses and children of fallen and wounded soldiers.”

Lombardo said free golf is “the City’s way of thanking our military veterans for their service. We’re proud to participate in this.”
