Pearl Lake Rd Special Construction Notice

Please be advised of the following construction notices related to the Pearl Lake Rd Project.

On Thursday August 7, 2014 construction crews will be performing water utility work on Hamilton Ave (RT69) at Pearl Lake Rd between the hours of 8 PM and 6AM on Friday. The work to be performed is to “tie in” the new 8” water main on Pearl Lake Rd to the existing 14” water main on Hamilton Ave (RT69). Traffic in this area will be reduced to a single lane in each direction of Hamilton Ave. Uniformed police officers and flag personnel will be on scene to assist motorists through the work zone.

On Friday August 8, 2014 construction crews will begin work on the Pearl Lake Rd, Spring Lake Rd, Piedmont St intersection. The scope of work to be performed in this area will include road grade changes, storm drainage and water system upgrades, paving and curbing.

The intersection of Pearl Lake Rd, Spring Lake Rd and Piedmont St and extended portions of each road will be closed to traffic Monday through Friday from 6:30AM to 5:30PM.

Detours will be established on Spring Lake Rd at Jersey St, Pearl Lake Rd at Tracy Ave and Piedmont St at Tracy Ave. Uniformed police officers and traffic personnel will be posted at each detour. Signage will be in place through the construction areas.

From points north of the project vehicles heading west on East Mountain Rd will be directed north on Pearl Lake Rd to Sylvan Ave and residents of Gilyard Dr will also be directed north on Pearl Lake Rd to Sylvan Ave. during hours of construction.

From 5:30PM to 6:30AM daily and on weekends the best access to Gilyard Dr and East Mountain Rd will be from the Piedmont St part of the project.

It is expected that these road closures above will remain in effect until August 22nd at which time a binder course of pavement will be in place and construction crews will continue underground utility work along road edges.

Pearl Lake Rd between Sylvan Ave and Hamilton Ave (RT69) will continue to remain closed to thru traffic.
