The large break on a 10 inch water main on South Leonard St. that occurred on Tuesday 5/20/14,  resulted in a doubling of the normal flow rate into the Low Service Area. This increase in flow velocity resulted in discolored water throughout the Low Service Area, including downtown. With time, the water quality will improve. In the interim, customers are encouraged to avoid using washing machines, dishwashers or other water using devices. The Bureau of Water apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this discolored water situation. We will keep you advised of any changes in the situation.
