Process kicks off with surveys - now available on district’s
- The community will have several opportunities to shape the search for
Waterbury Public School’s next leader, beginning with a couple of surveys now
available on the front page of District’s website, www.waterbury.k12.ct.us.
Ray and Associates presented
its plan for Waterbury Public Schools Superintendent search to the Board of
Education during a Special Meeting on January 9, 2018. The agency is planning a
number of phases, beginning with the launch of three community surveys this
The surveys, posted on January 12, 2018 to the District website,
are designed to gather feedback regarding what traits Waterbury Public Schools
families, employees and residents would like to see in the next Superintendent.

“Community District Review” survey, Waterbury Public School stakeholders have
the ability to rate the school district in a number of areas including how well
Waterbury is addressing the achievement gap, the social and emotional needs of
students and preparing its students for college or career.
“Qualities desired in the new Superintendent” allows stakeholders to specify
what traits they would most like to see in the new, permanent Superintendent.

questions used in stakeholder focus groups and during candidate interviews.
At the end of January, Ray and Associates will be in town to
conduct a series of meetings with various stakeholder groups representing
parents, employees and the community. Additionally,
a forum will be scheduled for anyone who would like to provide feedback. The
meeting will be open to the public.
