The Waterbury Memorial Day Parade will be held May 26, 2013.
The parade assembles at 12 p.m. on Freight Street in downtown
Waterbury. Promptly at 1 p.m., the parade steps off turning
South on Meadow Street, East onto Grand Street, North on Bank St.,
and then East onto W. Main St., where it passes the reviewing stand
that is placed on the south side of Waterbury Green. The parade then
disperses after having continued its march down West Main St. to
Meadow St., and back to their parked cars on Freight Street.
Immediately after the parade, which typically lasts approximately 40 minutes,
ceremonies begin on the Green with Col. John Chiarella, Sr. as Master of
Ceremonies, the participation of the Waterbury Veterans Memorial committee,
and dignitaries. Wreaths are presented by local veterans groups, the Elks and
other local organizations.
