5/21/2012 - Saturday, May 19, 2012 -- WOW/NRZ Community Service Initiative

Three owner-occupied homes were cleaned and repaired as part of a community service day Saturday, May 19, 2012. The event was sponsored by the Waterbury Blight Task Force, WOW/NRZ Community Learning Center, Waterbury PAL, Walsh School and Bushka Lumber & Millwork Co. The houses, owned by low-income homeowners without the financial ability to complete the work on their own, were painted, landscaped and had their front porches repaired. Thank you to all the volunteers from the Waterbury Police Explorers, WOW/NRZ Youth Council, Waterbury AIC, Waterbury Police Department, Waterbury Blight Enforcement & Control, Waterbury PAL, Public Works and the Health Dept. for making today's WOW Community Service Initiative such a success.
