NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Waterbury Development Corporation (WDC) is the administering agent for the City of Waterbury's entitlement grant under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, a federally funded program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The City of Waterbury (City) is pleased to announce the availability of its FY 2012-2013 formula entitlement funds. They are as follows: $1,878,054 (CDBG), $180,059 New Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and $692,667 HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME). HUD has also advised the City that its second allocation of ESG funds for FY 2011 will be $56,555 and, in order to receive these funds, a Substantial Amendment to its FY 2011 Annual Action Plan must be prepared and submitted by May15, 2012. This deadline is approximately three months earlier than the submission of the FY 2012 Annual Action Plan which is due at HUD by August 10, 2012. The Program Year for FY 2012 (CD YR 38) begins on October 1, 2012 and ends on September 30, 2013.
Those interested in applying for funds should submit their applications to WDC no later than 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012. Upon receipt the CAC will review the applications for consistency with CDBG eligibility guidelines (24CFR570.201) and the themes identified for the City of Waterbury’s Consolidated Plan (2008- 2013). As part of the review process, additional public meetings and a second public hearing will be held to receive public input. Applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves well with the needs identified thus far, and to participate in the ongoing development of the Plan.
