Shakesperience Productions, Inc. to Perform
at Waterbury Public Schools

Emily Mattina, Producing Director of Shakesperience Productions, Inc., is pleased to announce the first Waterbury performance of the school year, The Jungle Book, is scheduled to take place at Sprague School on October 21.

The production incorporates totem poles, masks, puppetry, live music, and vibrant color to engage students in grades preK-12.  Weaving the 6 pillars of character as well as vocabulary and themes based on state curriculum, the pre- and post-show discussions add to the production as does the comprehensive study guide.

This performance is the first of many made possible by the generous contributions of the American Savings Foundation and the Waterbury Arts & Tourism Commission that allow Shakesperience to bring these performances to Waterbury schools at no cost.

Shakesperience will continue touring the Waterbury schools, visiting Wendell Cross, Chase, Bucks Hill, Driggs, Tinker, Carrington, Walsh, and Generali in the show's second week.  Also scheduled for performances of The Jungle Book are Kingsbury, Washington, Rotella, and Wallace, while Wilby, Kennedy, and Crosby High Schools will view an adaptation of Romeo & Juliet in the spring.

Shakesperience is a professional theater company located in Connecticut that reaches a Northeast audience of adults and students alike with School and Public Theatre Tours, Saturday and Private Acting Classes, Summer Camps, Residencies, and outdoor and in-studio performances.  To find information on these programs visit the Shakesperience web site at www.shakesperience.org.
