Shakesperience Offers Acting Classes

Waterbury, CT – September, 2010 Shakesperience Productions, Inc. is pleased to announce acting classes for students age 7-17 yrs of age at the Shakesperience Studios in Waterbury, CT. Classes will be held on Saturdays from October 23– December 18 (no class November 27).

Students age 7-11 will learn will learn new ways to perform their favorite poems with the spectacular addition of masks!  For students aged 12-17 years, the class performs selections from Shakespeare’s sweeping plays of heroes and heroines in works such as Antony and Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and Troilus and Cressida.

Shakesperience is also proud to present a new class in Waterbury, for ages 12 – 17, that combines the mediums of film and theatre. This class will take place in the last half hour of the acting intensive and will be led by the Residents Artists of Shakesperience Productions, Inc. Additionally, all students who participate in the Fall Acting Intensives will be invited to audition for the Fall Festival production of A Christmas Carol..

In all classes, students will explore various acting techniques and styles using the Shakesperience Approach, developed by Artistic Director Emily Mattina.  Each class will focus on creating action through language while developing a positive ensemble.  Intensives culminate in a presentation to be shared by family and friends.
