The Big Read will come to close with the following activities:

Art Awards Presentation 4:00-4:30pm: Art projects created by Waterbury Public School students based on the book  A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest Gaines

Indian Summer Duo
First Thursday, June 3, 2010

 
Indian Summer is a local Connecticut based jazz duo whose vocal and instrumental skills are sure to captivate and entertain you.  Indian Summer is comprised of Joshua Swetts on guitar, Charise Courtney on lead vocals and drummer John Deuth.  Joshua Swetts has been playing guitar since he was 13 years old, studying under many mentors including great jazz guitarist, Joe Beck.  Joshua also plays drums, piano, key boards, and bass guitar.  He holds a degree from Berklee College of Music.  Ms. Courtney has been singing for years with classic rock band CLEARVIEW at various venues throughout Connecticut.  John Deuth has been recording and performing blues and rock for 25 years.

 

First Thursday, a fun, after-hours event, is a great way to meet up with friends, network with business associates, and enjoy live music from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Admission is $7 for museum members, and $15 for non-members. Join the museum or renew your membership on First Thursday and get in free!
