New Opportunities, Inc. is currently accepting applications for their Afro-Latin-Indian Scholarship Competition.

Any student in grades 6 – 12 who either lives in or attends school in Waterbury is eligible to apply. Graduating high-school seniors must intend to attend an institute of higher learning in the Fall.  There are three categories per grade – Art, Essay and Poetry with awards including Grade 12 Scholarship Division - 1st Place—4 Year Award; 2nd & 3rd Place—1 Year Award and Grades 6—11 - 1st—3rd Place Cash Awards. Deadline to apply is April 30^th.  Applications are available from all public and private high school and middle schools in Waterbury and local youth organizations.
