A Message From Catherine

The Guinness World Record for the largest Popsicle Stick structure was unofficially broken at the Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center when Stephen Guman completed assembly of his 396,000 Popsicle Stick castle!  All that remains is for Guinness to verify his accomplishment, which will take approximately 6 weeks.  Sections of the gigantic 12 foot by 17 foot castle, which are so large that they were delivered by tractor trailer truck, arrived at the museum for final assembly last week and were assembled on Monday!

The Popsicle Stick Castle will be on display through January 22nd.  It's a fantastic thing to see with your family during the holidays, and on Sunday, December 27th there will be a special program in honor of Stephen Guman and his humongous castle from 2 - 4 pm.

Popsicle Castle Completed

The pieces of Stephen Guman's Popsicle Stick Castle were so large that they had to be transported to the museum by tractor trailer truck!  When finally assembled they unofficially broke the Guinness World Record for the largest Popsicle Stick structure!

See the castle, meet Stephen Guman, and build popsicle structures yourself at Discovery Club.  Art teacher Audrey Grice will be on hand to show you how!  Children's admission is $4 for museum members and $7 for non-members.  Adults accompanying children are addmitted for free.
