A Message From Catherine

When Raechel Guest conducts a tour it is a wonderful treat. Her knowledge of  Waterbury regional history is vast, but more importantly, she has a knack for capturing imaginations and transporting people back in time. Next Saturday join Raechel and experience Mr. Fortune's world as if you were there.

Mr. Fortune is known to many as "Larry" because after his death this name was inscribed on the forehead of his skull. His story is truly compelling and this is the last chance you'll have to learn about his life before the world premiere of Fortune's Bones: The Manumission Requiem. It is an important story, and something that you'll want to know about and understand.

Kids' Gardening Program

Brendan and Nickie with Pumpkins
Spend the afternoon playing in the dirt at our kid's gardening program!  How Does Your Garden Grow? introduces families to child-size gardening. Touch, taste and smell some very interesting plants. Plant sunflower and pumpkin seeds in containers you can take home and watch grow into beautiful flowers and yummy veggies. Then make a scarecrow to frighten animals and birds away. Children will take home planted seeds, growing instructions, and a journal to track their garden's growth.

Children's admission is $4 for members and $7 for non-members. Admission is free for adults accompanying children.
