May 14, 2008 - “Brass City Boogie” Informational Meeting & Reception:

With a goal of helping to improve the perception of Waterbury, six members of the Leadership Greater Waterbury Perceptions team will launch a music industry showcase and festival called the Brass City Boogie in downtown Waterbury in the summer of 2009 .

The event will feature a wide range of artists and musical genres appealing to a diverse local, statewide and national audience. The Perceptions team was inspired by the tremendous success of the SXSW Music and Film Festival held every March in Austin, Texas.

The launch of Brass City Boogie will begin with a kickoff informational meeting and reception on May 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Palace Theater. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Persons interested in serving on the Steering Committee for this event are invited to attend this free meeting.
