The annual flushing of mains and testing of fire hydrants will begin on Monday, April 21, 2008. The work will be scheduled from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday until completion. An advertisement will run in the Waterbury Republican notifying residents of the 10 week program. The newspaper will also run the list of the weekly streets affected by the program.

Hydrant Flushing Program
As a result of flushing, customers may experience periods of reduced pressure and/or discolored water. This is not harmful, however, sufficient clean water should be drawn for drinking, cooking and washing at the start of each day.
