Waterbury PAL Cadets Baton Twirling Team Announces National Results and Registration Dates

 

The Waterbury PAL Cadets Baton Twirling Team finished the 2003-04 competition season this July with outstanding results at America’s Youth on Parade at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana. They participated in the National and World Open National Baton Twirling Association Championships and finished 6th and 7th in the National Beginner Small Juvenile and Large Junior Twirl Team events, respectively.  Several members also earned individual medals in their respective age divisions including:  Team Captain Christine Evans 8th  Beginner Flag and 10th Junior Team Princess, Jessica Rodriguez 7th Novice Flag, Rebecca Rodriguez 6th Novice Flag, 9th Novice Duet with Da’Liza Rodriguez, Gretchen Molina 6th Novice Solo Baton, Jennifer Lopez Dufour  8th Novice Two-Baton, and Maytae Harge 7th Juvenile Team Princess. 

 

The Cadets will be hold open registration on Sept 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 6-8 PM at the Police Athletic League Headquarters, 35 State St., Waterbury.  Girls ages 8-14 from the Greater Waterbury area are invited.  Registration fees are $25.00, batons are $15.00.  Fees for costumes, competition, and travel are additional.  Practice is on Thursday from 6-8 PM.  Future overnight events include either the 2005 NBTA Regionals in Massachusetts or Nationals in Indiana, and the 2006 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Virginia.  For further information, contact PAL at 753-7676 or Carole Trombley, Coach, at 754-7868.
