Join the Celebration

On May 31^st UConn Waterbury will continue its observance of the 60^th Anniversary of the Waterbury campus and the 125^th Anniversary of the University of Connecticut with A Celebration of Lifelong Learning event on the UConn Waterbury campus at 99 East Main Street in Waterbury.

This tribute to a lifelong search for knowledge will begin at 4:00pm in the Multi-purpose room as poet Richard St. John (Lifelong Learning: Poetry & Purpose) explores ways in which real people lead lives of meaning.  Treat yourself to this opportunity to reflect and see the world in new ways.  At 5:10 there will be a program of Highlights of the UConn Faculty.  Find out about the work of a few of the many luminaries at the University such as Walter Woodward, State Historian and Assistant Professor of History at the UConn West Hartford campus.  At 6:15 we’ll gather in the Concourse for light refreshments and an announcement of a new partnership between UConn Waterbury and the Leever Foundation to promote Lifelong Learning in the region.  The evening will conclude with a reading by poet Maya Angelou at the Palace Theater (tickets are required for this event and may be purchased by contacting the Palace box office).
