Dr. Charles Atkins, local psychiatrist and writer, will launch his third mystery at The John Bale Book Company on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 2 p.m. This event is the unveiling of THE CADAVER’S BALL and this event is free and open to the public.

THE CADAVER’S BALL is a novel of revenge and love and is the third mystery produced by Dr. Atkins. His other two titles, THE PORTRAIT and RISK FACTOR, were also published by St. Martin’s and will be available for sale that day.

The book’s launch party will be replete with a “live” window display that heralds in the Halloween season. Dr. Atkins will be on hand to sign copies of his books, answer questions, and to possibly take notes for characters in future novels.

Dr. Atkins is a Woodbury resident also known for his Waterbury Republican-American columns written with Lisa Hoffman.

This event also begins the book club season for The John Bale Book Company. The book club meets the first Saturday of the month at 2 p.m. and is run by Mary Donnarumma Sarnik, Director of English Studies at Chase Collegiate in Waterbury.
