1/22/2015 - Ohio-based Manufacturer Expanding to Waterbury

(WATERBURY, CT) -- A full line manufacturer of premium metal framing and accessories plans to invest $6 million in Waterbury.

Telling Industries, a steel framing company that manufactures and sells products to the competitive commercial construction market in an area spanning eight states is expanding to Waterbury. The company expects to occupy 85,000 square feet of space at 184 East Aurora St.

Telling Industries will have plant management and sales personnel along with an hourly workforce in one shift.  They plan to grow to two shifts within one year and have a total workforce of 40 full time employees.

The nationally recognized manufacturer currently owns and operates three facilities located in Ohio, Arkansas and Arizona. Waterbury’s convenient access to the interstate highway system and its halfway location between New York City and Boston makes it the ideal starting point for shipments throughout the Northeast.

“This is another great win for Waterbury,” said Mayor Neil M. O’Leary.  “Manufacturing was this city’s past and our fundamental mission today is to bring back the industry jobs.  Telling Industries will feel at home in Waterbury.  Manufacturers are doing very well here.”

Bud Balsom, executive director of Telling Industries said, “The mayor’s passion for manufacturing and his willingness to proactively work with us was a factor in our choice for the location of the new facility.”

The Waterbury facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art roll forming machinery, large industrial sitters as well as metal breaks and shearing equipment.
