Road work and underground utility work on the Pearl Lake Road reconstruction project is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 17. Beginning on Monday the contractor will erect all appropriate signage including detour signs. Pearl Lake Road between Piedmont Street and Sylvan Avenue will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 18. Additionally, East Mountain Road will be closed at Pearl Lake Road.

Local access to Gilyard Drive and properties on Pearl Lake Road will be from the east side of the project via Hamilton Avenue or Sylvan Avenue.

Eastbound traffic at Pearl Lake Road will be directed to Piedmont Street, Edgewood Avenue and points east. Westbound traffic on Pearl Lake Road will be directed to Sylvan Avenue and points west.

Traffic control personnel will be on scene during construction and access to local properties will be provided. Motorists are urged to use caution when travelling in the area. Any questions regarding the project can be directed to the Public Works Department at 203-574-6851.
