6/30/2005 - A Midsummer Night's Dream-Library Park

What:

Shakespeare in Library Park

Naugatuck Savings Bank and the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism, with the support of the Northwest Connecticut Convention and Visitors Bureau, present free summer performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by Shakesperience Productions, Inc.

With volunteer support from Main Street Waterbury, SPI will present free performances of the smash hit from their spring season.  Producing Director Emily Mattina directs this original one-hour adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy in the signature Shakesperience fashion - six professional actors deftly use Shakespeare’s language to bring this hilarious comedy to life for a modern audience.  SPI’s visceral and physically dynamic performance is complete with magic, moonlight, mistaken identity, and music composed specifically for this production.

Bring a picnic basket and blanket to downtown Waterbury and pass a warm summer evening with Shakesperience Productions, Inc.  The July 2nd performance will feature a cameo appearance by the highest bidder in the silent auction from April’s Taste of Shakespeare fundraising event.

Where:

Library Park, behind Silas Bronson Library on Grand Street, at 6:30 PM on June 30th, July 1st and July 2nd.
