City offices will be closed today, Feb. 13.  Non-essential city employees should not report to their respective work locations.

Mayor Neil M. O’Leary declared a snow emergency parking ban for the City of Waterbury, beginning at 12:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. The parking ban is expected to be lifted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14. 

In addition to all currently posted “Snow Zones” there will be no parking on the odd numbered side of all city streets. Vehicles parked in snow zones or the odd numbered side of streets may be towed at the owner’s expense.

All Waterbury Public Schools are closed Thursday, Feb 13.

The Department of Public Works will utilize all available snow plowing equipment and additional contractual help to ensure priority roadways are clear and passable, with the goal of providing for the safety and well-being of the city’s residents. Citizens are advised to stay off the roads as snow and freezing rain begin to fall.  Residents and business owners are asked to clear fire hydrants and shovel the sidewalks and walkways. Snow should not be shoveled back onto the road.

To report downed trees or limbs, please call 9-1-1.

Power outages should be reported to Connecticut Light and Power at 1-800-286-2000.

Anyone in need of shelter is urged to call 2-1-1.
