12/2/2013 - Connecticut Voices for Children

The Connecticut Community Foundation will host a presentation and follow-up discussion by Connecticut Voices for Children in Veteran's Hall at Waterbury City Hall on Wednesday, December 4th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The presentation will provide an overview of the well-being of children and families in the Foundation's communities, including population demographics, economics, school discipline, K-12 education, early care & education, health, and housing.

The session will focus on targeted investments we can make for healthy childhood development. Using data specific to local towns and cities, we will provide a baseline for assessing needs, identify emerging trends, challenges, and successes, and discuss opportunities for wise investments, policy, and advocacy. Where can our energy and resources make the most difference? What are the most effective policies to pursue for children and families in our communities? Together, we will explore these questions and learn from each other.

The session is free, and all are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to rsvp@conncf.org by December 2nd if you plan to attend. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Josh Carey, Director of Grants Management at jcarey@conncf.org or at 203-753-1315.
