If you are a high school senior, you have a chance to win a CHET Advance Scholarship.  This fall, CHET Advance will award $500,000 in scholarships to Connecticut high school seniors. The scholarships can be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses at accredited two- or four-year colleges/universities in the United States. Applicants must intend to enroll as a student in an accredited college or university no later than September 30, 2015.

Starting September 16, apply online at www.chetadvance.com. Ask your advisor or guidance counselor for details. Deadline to apply is October 4, 2013.

Applicants must be a high school senior and qualify under one of the following two categories:

Category 1: A high school located in Connecticut, including a public, private, or parochial high school, other than a Review or Turnaround school (as listed on www.chetadvance.com). Also includes home-schooled seniors in Connecticut and seniors that attend a high school located outside of Connecticut when either the student, or at least one of the student’s parents or guardian, reside in Connecticut.

Category 2: A high school designated by the Connecticut Department of Education as a Review or Turnaround high school as
of August 2013.

Up to 200 scholarships in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded through a random drawing of all eligible students who complete an online application before the program deadline. 100 scholarships will be awarded to Category 1 seniors; 100 scholarships will be awarded  to Category 2 seniors.
