Lighting Fairs
Waterbury City Hall, 235 Grand Street

  • Thursday, July 25, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 14, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The City of Waterbury and CL&P is bringing three lighting fairs to City Hall to encourage residents to use compact fluorescent and LED bulbs. Energy experts will explain Energize Waterbury initiatives, including Home Energy Solutions, discounted rates on insulation and HVAC equipment, and converting to natural gas. Residents can learn about energy-efficient lighting and purchase energy-efficient lighting at discounted prices. Representatives will also be selling the Blue Box Special: 3 CFLs, 3 Globe CFLs, 1 LED bulb, 1 LED night light and an energy-efficient lighting fixture for $10. While supplies last.

Over the next several months, Energize Waterbury “Green Team” members will be working closely with city officials, Waterbury legislators, various neighborhood councils and community groups to raise awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency. “Green Team” members will be seen throughout the city, enrolling residents in programs and leading special events to provide residents with more information on available programs.

Energy efficiency and renewable energy programs are available for existing homes, apartments, condos, and for homeowners building new homes or remodeling. There is special pricing available for Waterbury residents and many free services for income-eligible customers.
