COMMUNITY MEETING PLANNED TO DISCUSS SCOVILL SITE

WATERBURY, CT, February 14, 2005 --- The Office of the Mayor announced today that there will be a community meeting on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm at Kennedy High School, 422 Highland Avenue, to provide an opportunity for the residents of Waterbury to learn more about the reuse planning process for the undeveloped portion of the Scovill Industrial Landfill Superfund site.

Recently, the City of Waterbury received a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant to undertake a planning project to identity future land use opportunities for the undeveloped portion of the Scovill Industrial Landfill Superfund site.  These findings, along with community input, will help determine the best possible reuse scenario.
