General Government - Open Enrollment

OPEN ENROLLMENT

Last fall you were notified that since the City as a whole runs on a fiscal year basis which begins
each July 1 and ends on June 30, the rates for the health plans that are offered would be adjusted to reflect this as well.  Therefore, the rates that become effective July 1, 2010 will run through June 30, 2011.  Note that 10-month employees will see their rate changes with their first paycheck in September(see Open Enrollment Instructions-10 Month Employees).  Due to this change, if you wish to make any changes in your health plan coverage, you must do so during this open enrollment period.  Your next opportunity to make changes will be next year at open enrollment.

This is your opportunity to;

  • Stay with your current plan – DO NOTHING, BUT CHECK THE NEW RATES!
  • Add or delete family members – COMPLETE AN ENROLLMENT/CHANGE FORM!
  • Cancel your coverage – COMPLETE AN ENROLLMENT/CHANGE FORM!
  • Change plans – COMPLETE A NEW ENROLLMENT/CHANGE FORM!
  • Join a plan – COMPLETE A NEW ENROLLMENT/CHANGE FORM!

Everything you need is available on-line.   Materials will also be available to pick up in our office.

Open Enrollment will begin May 17, 2010 and end June 15, 2010

  • FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT

Open enrollment for the Flexible Spending Accounts, a Healthcare Reimbursement Account and/or a Dependent Care Assistance Account, will take place in the fall with an effective date of January 1, 2011.  You will receive notification of the open enrollment dates for the FSA.  Remember that you must enroll each year in a Flexible Spending Account if you wish to participate.  Your elections do not roll over from one plan year to another.
