Mission   The office of the Waterbury assessor is responsible for insuring that all property identified in the Connecticut general statues as being subject to local property taxation is appraised at it's market value, as of the last revaluation date, and assessed at the state mandated 70% assessment ratio. In addition, this office processes applications for certain tax saving exemptions, completes all mandated state reports, processes tax map changes, addresses the routine issues of managing an office, as well as addressing all assessment inquires and explaining how assessments were determined. Most importantly, it is responsible for providing accurate data for use by taxpayers and real estate professionals of all types.

FORMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY PERSONNEL WHO WERE STATIONED OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT ON THE ASSESSMENT DATE. Please Download the Application for Motor Vehicle Property Tax Exemtion or Exemption Benefit for Connecticut Residents. Applications are now being accepted for those appealing the Assessment of their Motor Vehicles on the 2009 Grand List. Please fill out the application in its entirety & return it to the Assessor's Office by September 8th to get an appointment with the Board of Assessment Appeals. Please Download the Appeals Form and submit to the Board of Assessment Appeals To All property owners of rental real or leased property, including commercial, retail, industrial and residential properties of six units or more must file an annual Income & Expense Report. The Assessor’s office will be mailing these forms out to you by April 15th. To avoid a 10% late penalty fee, please complete & sign the forms and return to this office on or before June 1, 2009.
